Buckle up bucko.  It’s time to get started on transforming yourself!

Your wallet and your bathroom scale will thank you.

Your family and friends won’t know what happened to you.

Your bathroom mirror will be so confused it will call 911 to report that a stranger is in the house.

Warning: I am about to begin doing some thought reform procedures on you.  This may cause a disruption in your current beliefs (even if your current beliefs have been harming you in the past and keeping you anchored in sub-par human performance.)

As part of the thought reform, I use some weird words that you may be unfamiliar with such as “values, principles, morals, ethics and personal excellence.”  You may be unfamiliar with these terms up to now but don’t panic, I’ll get you through it along the way.

Many of the new thoughts introduced will be significantly different from those that have been pre-programmed into you by Wall Street, Hollywood, The Media, Your Employer, and finally our good mutual friends at the Government.  For fun, we can refer to those institutions and others as “the forces of evil.”

This will be a death match between me and the forces of evil (don’t worry, it’s not like Game of Thrones) in the game of re-education, brainsweeping, coercive persuasion, and thought control so that you can be indoctrinated against an impairment of autonomy. That’s a fancy way of saying that other people don’t want you to use your brain in ways that are in your own self-interest.  (This is usually done as a way to capture your money and keep them in power).  I’ll be trying to get you to use your brain for yourself.  It will be revolutionary and new to you but bear with me.

Some of you may already be saying, “Wait, I already use my brain for myself.”  You may be wrong.  That’s part of the problem.  Just pause and reflect for a few moments on your own life and then ask yourself, “Is my life really going super well?”  Golly-Gee, your life is not going super well because you don’t have your sh!t together and that’s because you have been paying attention to all the wrong things which have been delivered to you by the forces of evil.  It’s confusing but I’m here to guide you so don’t worry.

So you will be using your brain (now for yourself) and will be able to rebel the messages that the evil forces of the universe are trying to send to you.  It’s kind of like the Matrix but you still get to watch Matt Damon movies.  Consider it full-tilt groovy.

As a result of the reprogramming, you may end up eating different foods, managing your money differently, buying different consumer items (and maybe less of them), doing this thing called “exercise,” and maybe even pursuing different types of employment.  Your life may include new components like “positive relationships” or be described as “happy, fun, or fulfilling.”  We’ll be pursuing something called “personal excellence” which is really just a fancy way of moving you towards your potential.  It turns out your potential may be higher than what your parents thought it is or even your high school guidance counselor (who sells Herbalife to fund his smoking habit.)

You have to be ready for change.  Change is often hard and sometimes you may not believe you are ready for change.  But then again, you probably wouldn’t be too pleased if your life just kept going the way it has been going.  But I believe in you and I’m sure once you start seeing the benefits of change you will be anxious to keep going as you work your way through personal transformation and on your way to success.

The good news is that we are capable of learning new things as a result of better knowledge and information and then can reap the benefits once we learn how to implement those items through processes and procedures.

Frequently Asked Question: “Hey, I’m trying to get smart but have some doubts about you.  How do I know you don’t already work for the government or really make burritos for a living?”

Answer: “First, don’t ever knock burritos or the master burrito makers themselves.  But I digress.  You actually bring up a few great questions and I commend your skepticism.  You are showing signs of having a high probability of success with your ability to think for yourself!  You will probably be a fast learner in getting ahead in life.  But if you want to know more about me keep going.”

I learned that the brain actually does work like a computer running on software (when it isn’t being hijacked by your crazy emotions).  That was a revolutionary discovery for me.  I taught myself to write new software for my brain and then how to run it.  It sounds crazy but then again, that’s all habits and behaviors are.  Habits and behaviors are just the repetitious pre-programmed responses that we have based upon the information and knowledge that was given to us (often by the forces of evil).  If you could change the input, you can change the output.

But what about the results?  How did this transform me?  Why is it important to you?

You may not believe it, but at various points of my life, I was a stressed out, anxious, fat piece of crap with a large CPA butt.  I felt hopeless.  I felt like life wasn’t fun.  I didn’t have very good relationships with people.  I had high cholesterol.  I had high blood pressure.  I had an ulcer.  I used to get a lot of headaches.  I felt lethargic.  I hated my job.  I felt like my future was bleak.

And I had another problem coming out of school and early in my career.  It was a total personal conflict.  Here I was, Mr. CPA with a fancy-schmancy MBA so interested in money, personal finance, and financial freedom.  I craved financial security.  But there was the debt I was dealing with.  I had student loan debt, auto loan debt, credit card debt, then the mortgage debt.  If you were someone I knew back then, I probably would have owed you $20 bucks too for covering me at lunch or dinner a few times.

UHHHHGGGG!!!!  I was so frustrated and confused.  I didn’t have a framework for success. I had no template or guidebook.  I was navigating life completely blind and ignorant.

I just wanted to be happy.  So I told myself certain things that were influenced by the forces of evil which impacted my behaviors.  I told myself that it was ok to drink soft drinks because “I deserved them and needed the energy from the sugar and caffeine.” I told myself that I deserved to be happy so I indulged in things that provided immediate gratification at the expense of my own long-term self-interest.

My first job out of graduate school was working at Ernst & Young, an international accounting firm.  Our largest client in the Atlanta office was a global leader in the soft drink industry and the firm had multiple fountain drink dispensers on all floors of the office.  ALL YOU CAN DRINK!  There is no telling how much sugar and caffeine I was consuming on a daily basis. (By the way, all you can drink doesn’t mean drink all you can…)

I would get home from work and tell myself that I deserved to sit on the couch and “relax” while watching TV, eat some good snacks.  I ate fast food (lots of it).  On weekends I told myself that I deserved a treat for working so much and having such a hard life so I would reward myself with something special like a rack of ribs, french fries, and more soft drinks. After all, I was entitled to be happy wasn’t I?

But it got to the point where my life was unbearable.  Something had to give.  I was so unhappy even though I was doing all of these things that were supposed to make me happy. I was eating what they showed me on commercials.  I was buying stuff at the malls.  I was driving a nice car, living in a nice house, and I had comfy furniture.  If I didn’t have the cash to buy something I wanted, I’d just use my credit cards.  I told myself that I deserved nice things since I had such a hard life.  I never realized that I was the one making my life so much harder than it had to be.  But of course I was clueless and under the hypnotism of the forces of evil.

But then I realized that I was paying attention to all the wrong things delivered by the forces of evil and started re-programming myself and amazing things happened.  I learned that I didn’t need permission from anybody to rebel against everything that I was being told by the forces of evil.  And it made all the difference in the world!

I re-programmed myself on my money, my health, my relationships, and my time management.  I also started pursuing things that actually had an impact on my long-term happiness.  It wasn’t always easy but I’m so glad that I did it.  I had to learn a lot and maybe you will have to learn a lot too.  But that’s ok.  I had a ton of questions, you probably do too.

Here’s the deal.  I had to learn how to get my sh!t together.

Now a lot of you might be saying, “Well I don’t want to be an Ironman.  I don’t want to run marathons.”  I have GREAT news for you.  You don’t have to do these things at all to be happy, fit, and live a life of wellness (actually, it may be better that you don’t do these extreme things if you want to maximize your health.)

You just have to learn how to get your health sh!t together and you can do that by re-programming yourself the way I did.  You do that by eliminating the bad information provided by the forces of evil and substituting it with the goodness that you can get here from me.  And here’s the good part – you can do this while having a job, family, friends, and living a fun life. There are plenty of people that have completely transformed their lives and you can too!

Now I know many of you will still want to say certain things to yourself and believe many things that were told to you by the forces of evil.  Those forces are tricky and persuasive. They warped my stinking brain after all so I know their power.  I know this because I said many things over and over again to myself based on that same crappy information that has been fed to you.  I told myself that I just wanted to be happy.  I told myself that I love eating certain things.  I told myself that I loved relaxing when not at work because I was so tired and worn out to do anything else.  I told myself that I loved watching TV and deserved that joy and pleasure.

You may be just like I was where you want to transform yourself and actually be healthy and happy.  But then there is this little part of you that just isn’t sure of some of the stuff I may tell you because you are not sure if it will actually make you happier (and of course it requires you to change and that’s scary stuff).  Who wants to put in the work and effort to change if it doesn’t deliver the goods?  That would be a complete waste of time.  Fair enough.  I have some questions for you.

Which guy below do you think is really happier?  The guy on the left who told himself certain things about what he thought he loved and would make him happy or the guy on the right?

Which guy in the pictures below do you think makes more money and is more financially secure, the guy on the left or the guy on the right?

You have to stop telling yourself the same lies that the forces of evil have been telling you.

Which guy below do you think has more energy, has more fun, has better relationships, has better control over his time?  Which guy do you really think is happier across the board? Which guy has more confidence?  Which guy is less stressed?  Which guy is less anxious? Which guy feels better about his future?  Which guy has better life experiences?

My before and after pictures aren’t as important as what your before and after pictures are going to be.  What do you want YOUR “after” picture to look like?  What do you want YOUR life to look like?  What kind of money do you want to make?  How do you want to feel about yourself?  This isn’t as much about me as it is about YOU.  What do you want from your life? How does it really feel to be the current version of yourself and how do you think it is going to feel when you roll out the new 2.0 version.
